REDLAND SUNRISE ROTARY BOOKFEST SEPTEMBER 2022

12PM – 5PM FRIDAY 23/09 || 7.30AM – 4PM SATURDAY 24/09 || 7.30AM – 12PM SUNDAY 25/09

The Rotary Club of Redland Sunrise welcomes everyone to the world of books at their Sunrise Bookfest on Friday 23rd, Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th September 2022 at the Thornlands Dance Palais. We are very happy to open our doors to the public to purchase books from the thousands of quality books we have to offer.

Books supplied from the State Library of Queensland and other sources will be on sale at knock-down prices starting from $2.

You can browse through the amazing variety of books, magazines and other treasures in the comfort of the Thornlands Dance Palais.

The biggest collection of books which range from adult fiction, children, craft, reference, education, travel, sport, gardening, cooking, and much more to please the avid readers. There will be a separate section with a large range of Children’s Books.

In addition to the books this year there will be a section with quality secondhand clothing and Bric-a-brac.

Proceeds will support local, National and International projects. Covid-19 rules apply.

We hold our Bookfest twice annually with thousands of books available at rock bottom prices.

We have several Bunnings Sausage Sizzles each year to help raise funds for our projects. Come down to Bunnings Capalaba and say hi!

Our yearly Hat Day events raise funds for Australian Rotary Health research into mental illness.

Redland Sunrise is a small club but makes a difference in the community through their activities and projects.

  • Bookfest: Held twice annually to serve the community with books available over a weekend at rock bottom prices.
  • Domestic Violence Care Packages: Assist domestic violence victims by providing care packages for families.
  • Redlands Hospital Garden: Donate money to a Garden at the Redlands hospital for patients to sit and talk to family while attending the hospital.
  • Dein Bien Phu, Vietnam: Support children of Dein Bien Phu with books, clothing, shoes, coats and food. Children of orphanages are supported with bread runs on a weekly basis.
  • Rice Run: Support families of Vietnam with “Rice Run” to schools of northern Vietnam in the mountainous areas. The Rice run provides food for school children, supporting the teachers who look after them, and helping the families who would not send them if there was no food at the school.
